Independent IT consulting for Maltese businesses
Your IT vendors should work for you. We make sure they do.
NYG is an independent IT consultancy for businesses that have nobody owning IT strategy: in effect, the IT manager you do not have on payroll. We review what you run, set the direction, find the right suppliers, and hold them to their contracts. We sell no hardware, no licences and no support hours, so our advice has only one customer: you.
Who this is for
Most companies in Malta below a few hundred staff have nobody whose job is to own IT as a whole. The work gets done, but nobody is steering.
You rely on an external IT company
They fix what breaks and recommend what they sell. Nobody on your side checks whether the setup, the SLA or the invoice is right.
You have a sysadmin, but no strategy
Day-to-day support is covered. Security, backups, licensing, contracts and a plan for the next two years are not anyone's responsibility.
You sign IT renewals without a second opinion
Contracts roll over each year. You cannot tell whether you are paying a fair price for a fair scope, because there is nobody independent to ask.
What we do
Four services that follow one another. Start with the review, keep whatever you need, and continue into ongoing oversight when you want a permanent hand on the wheel.
IT Review
We audit your infrastructure, systems, security, backups, licensing, every IT contract and what you spend. We talk to management and the people who use the systems daily.
A written report: where you stand, risks ranked by business impact, quick wins, and a clear cost baseline.
Roadmap
We turn the review into decisions: what to fix, replace, keep or stop, in what order, and at what budget. Tied to your business plans, not to technology fashion.
A 12 to 24 month IT roadmap with priorities, budget ranges and the decision points where you choose.
Sourcing
We write the requirements, shortlist suitable subcontractors for each workstream (support, networking, cloud, software, security), run the tender, compare offers like for like, and negotiate scope and price.
A recommended supplier per workstream, with a contract and SLA we have checked before you sign.
Oversight
We manage your subcontractors on your behalf: track SLA compliance, check invoices against contract, chair vendor meetings, escalate when service slips, and re-tender when a contract ends.
A monthly report on vendor performance, spend against budget and open risks. One point of contact for every IT matter.
Alongside these, we take on contract reviews before a renewal, second opinions on quotations, project management of a specific migration (PMS, ERP, Microsoft 365, network), and interim IT manager cover during a vacancy.
How an engagement runs
Fixed fees for the review, roadmap and sourcing. A monthly retainer for oversight. You can stop after any stage and keep the deliverable.
Kick-off
Short engagement letter and NDA. Access to systems, contracts and invoices. One named contact on your side.
Review
Inventory, interviews, contract and spend analysis. Report delivered and presented in person.
Roadmap
Workshop with the owner or GM to agree priorities and budget. Decide which workstreams go to tender.
Sourcing
Requirements, three to five suppliers per workstream, like-for-like comparison, negotiation, recommendation.
Oversight
Vendor and SLA review, invoice checks, roadmap progress, escalations. Light re-review every 12 months.
Why independent matters
Advice is only worth something if the adviser gains nothing from the answer. These rules are how we keep it that way.
Start with a 30-minute call
Tell us how your IT is run today and what worries you. We will say plainly whether a review makes sense and what it would cost. No obligation.
Useful to include in your message
- Roughly how many staff and sites you have
- Who looks after IT today (an external company, a sysadmin, nobody)
- Which contracts or renewals are coming up
- What has gone wrong recently, if anything
